She was predeceased by: her parents, Vernon James Barbee and Dallie Mae Burris Barbee; her husband J. B. Austin; her sons, Eulan Lee Austin and Ronnie J. Austin; and her brothers, Ray Junior Barbee, Marvin Barbee, Roy Gene Barbee, Lee Jay Barbee and Afton James Barbee.
She is survived by: her children, Sherry Hinson (Reggie) of Oakboro, NC, Bonnie Aldridge (Ronny) of Oakboro, NC and Gary Austin (Jane) of Oakboro, NC; her daughter-in-law Judy Austin of Oakboro; her grandchildren, Stephanie Hatley (Sherrell) of Norwood, Jarod Austin, Jeremy Hinson of Oakboro, Haven Kehl (Jojo) of Oakboro, Anthony Hinson (Heather) of Oakboro, Justin Hinson (Katelyn) of Oakboro and Francine Thompson (Jake) of Asheboro; her great grandchildren, Jacob, Mason, Peyton, Reed, Gauge, Lynnox, Spencer, Taylor, Josie, Amy Ruth, Elias and Lillian Ruth; and her sisters, Lois Eudy of Locust, NC, Verna Mae Laton of Concord and Sadie Whitley of Stanfield, NC..
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 at 5:00 PM and on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM. A funeral service was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Mineral Springs Baptist Church (25711 Old School Rd, Oakboro, NC 28129).
