With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ruth Gordon Taylor Hathcock of Oakboro, North Carolina, who passed away on September 9, 2024 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Dewie Gordon and Beatrice Helms Gordon; her siblings, Dixie Hoffman, David Gordon and Freddie Melton; and her sister-in-law Jody Gordon.
She is survived by: her husband Eddie Hathcock; her children, Robby Taylor of Charlotte, Jeff Taylor of Midland and Angie Taylor McGee (Doug) of Midland; her stepchildren, Jason Hathcock (Kiersten) of Concord and Julie Barbee (Greg) of Midland; her siblings, Bill Gordon of Charlotte, Doug Gordon (Robyn) of Waxhaw, Rick Gordon (Becky) of Earl, NC and Susan Lovelace (Roy) of Earl, NC; her grandchildren, Kenlie, Lacie McGee, Elaina, Sophie, Will Taylor, Lillie, Sam Barbee, Andrew and Emma Hathcock; her great grandchild Avery James Taylor; and her friend Mary Baker of Mint Hill. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Hospice House of Monroe, NC.
