She was predeceased by: her parents, Eugene Burris and Essie Hinson Burris; her husband Lawrence John Barbee; her son Bernard John Barbee; her granddaughter Lisa Cilento; and her siblings, Julius, Grant, Carl Burris, Sarah Davis, Margaret Curlee and Merene Burris.
She is survived by: her children, Reed Barbee (Michelle) of Oakboro and Rhonda Cilento of Asheville; her daughter-in-law Patsy Barbee of Oakboro; and her grandchildren, Brett Barbee, Amber Lowry (John), Lori Elliott (Daniel), Tommy Gregory, Josh Gregory (Somer), Heather Huneycutt (Heath) and Dylan Gregory.
