He is survived by: his wife Kay Chaney; his daughter Robin Gainey (David) of Greensboro, NC; his grandson David Tyler Gainey (Brittany); his great grandchildren, Tyler Clay and Axel Wayne Gainey; and his sisters, Joyce Hatley (Jerry) and Flossie Tucker. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Mineral Springs Baptist Church (4694 NC-205, Oakboro, NC 28129). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
