He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd James Austin and Patry Tucker Austin; and his sisters, Sylvia Whitley and Doris Kennedy. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Lambert Austin; his son Chad Austin (Joanne Hesley) of Oakboro; his siblings, Sherrill Austin (Mary Jean) of Norwood and Patsy Barbee of Oakboro; his grandchildren, Matthew Austin of Oakboro and Jaime A. Blalock (Conner) of Wadesboro; and his great grandchild Riley Blalock.
