She was predeceased by: her parents, William Cummings and Mabel Cummings; her former husband John Allen Jenkins, Jr.; her husband Jesse Raymond Smetts; her son John Daniel Jenkins; and her sister Mary Shupe.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sue Barbee (Cecil) of Oakboro, NC, Brenda Vasquez (Angel) of Matthews, NC and Rebecca Beatty of Mebane, NC; her grandchildren, Joseph Jenkins, Emily Vasquez, Laura Walton (Josh), David Barbee (Meredith) and Kristopher Beatty; and her great grandchildren, Benjamin and Jake Walton.
