She was predeceased by: her parents, William Frederick Ellis and Golia Jane Ellis; her husband Billy Joe Barbee; her granddaughter Crystal Barbee; her son-in-law Ronnie Heafner; and her sisters, Mary Bass and Pauline Joyner.
She is survived by: her children, Russ Barbee (Terry) of Oakboro, NC, Rod Barbee (Regina) of Albemarle, NC, Ren Barbee (Robin) of Albemarle, NC and Rena Heafner of Oakboro, NC; and her siblings, James Ellis, Larry Ellis and Hazel Coleman. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren.
