With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Curtis Hoover Smith of Oakboro, North Carolina, who passed away on June 28, 2023 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Smith and Dallie Morton; his wife Laverne Whitley Smith; and his son Nelson Smith. He is survived by: his children, Joey Smith (Kathy), Jana Gwyn (Hunt) and Jera Norwood (Chris); his grandchildren, Jennifer Eudy, Jessica Blackburn (Brian), Justin Eudy, Mallory Smith, Abby Smith and Laven Norwood; his great grandchildren, Bayleigh, Dillon, Allie and Emily; and his sister-in-law Maxzelle Whitley.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church of Oakboro, and Hospice of Stanly County & the Uwharrie.
