He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Austin and Vena Mauldin Austin; and his sister Loretta Russell. He is survived by: his wife Ann Smith Austin; his daughters, Kelli Hartsell (Lee) of Concord, Tara Morton (Phillip) of Oakboro and Lynette Foster of Albemarle; and his grandchildren, Weston, Lainey, Ashton, Garrett and Tyler.
