He was predeceased by: his parents, James Charles Hatley and Minnie Belle Lambert Hatley; his former wife Nancy Bowers Hatley; and his sisters, Frankie Jean Murray and Patsy Lambert.
He is survived by: his sons, Adam Hatley (Candace) of Oakboro and Jason Hatley (Karen) of Boca Raton, FL; his grandchildren, Eli, Emma, Abigail and Charlie Hatley; his fiancé Jean Kennedy of Oakboro; his sister Oleamer Burleson of Albemarle; and his siblings-in-law, Doug Bowers of Albemarle and Lynn Hunter of Oakboro.
