He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Ashburn Manuel and Pearl Sapp Manuel; and his siblings, Roger, Bill, Roy, Paul, Dot Godwin, Marylou Snow and Ellen Pierce.
He is survived by: his close friend Carol Lemons; his brother Francis "Pappy" Manuel; and his children, Ron Manuel (Shelby), John Manuel (Cheryl) and Jamie Hicks (Tim).
