He was predeceased by: his parents, James David "J. D." and Ivey Beckham Sandel. He is survived by: his wife Lizzie Sandel; his children, David B. Sandel, Jr. (Sandy) of Kernersville and Donna Kay Johnson (David) of Myrtle Beach, SC.; and his siblings, Ken Sandel (Patti) of Nashville, TN. and Jan Sharpe (Wally) of Charleston, SC.. He is also survived by five grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and many friends.
