He is survived by: his wife Patricia "Pat" Deaton Nelson; his children, Dr. Sherry Nelson (Martin Muller) of Albuquerque, NM and Bill Nelson, Jr. (Cory Cruz) of Pasadena, CA; his grandchildren, Luke Muller and Lily Muller; and his sister Betty Humble of Liberty, NC.
Due to coronavirus pandemic the graveside service at Guilford Memorial Park will be private.
