He was predeceased by: his brother Wallace Edwards. He is survived by: his wife Sunae Kim "Katie" Edwards; his children, Stacey Edwards and Joshua Edwards; his granddaughter Ruby Kammel; and his brothers, James Hoyt Edwards, Jr., Carl T. Edwards and Gerald Edwards.

He had a very successful professional career as an engineer and as a leader of engineers. He was always loyal to Clemson and served on the Industrial Advisory Board for the Electrical & Computer Engineering Dept. for many years.
