He was predeceased by: his parents, Captain Charles F. Helme and Anne Bennett Helme; his sister Anne; and his close friend Gunner. He is survived by: his wife Susan Helme; his sons, Robert Jr., Matthew and Nicholas; his stepson Jason; his grandchildren, Kiera, Aliya and Elijah; his stepgrandsons, Jeffery and Carson; and his siblings, June (Ken) and Charles III (Mary). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and other extended family and friends.
