It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vernon Thompson (Norwood, North Carolina), who passed away on December 23, 2018, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Peggy East Thompson; his son Terry Lee Thompson; and his siblings, Howard, Dewey, Charles, Carson Thompson, Katie Huneycutt, Ola Mae McClean, Rachel Hudson and Lula Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Tim Thompson (Karen) of Fayetteville and Juanita Thompson Russell (Rusty) of Concord; and his sister Annette Thompson Vanhoy (Richard) of Salisbury. He is also survived by Eighteen Grandchildren, Twenty Three Great-Grandchildren and Three Great-Great Grandchildren.
