He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Kimrey and Lida Aldridge Kimrey; and his brothers, Alfred Kimrey and Johnny Kimrey. He is survived by: his wife Jane Lowry Kimrey; his children, Tony Kimrey (Debbie) of Norwood, Betty Kimrey of Albemarle and Della Kimrey Robbins (Gil) of Belhaven; his grandchildren, Lauren Andrews (Bo), Ryan Kimrey, John "Sonny" Robbins Jr. and Cecelia Swindell (Damian); and his great grandchildren, Jordan Rae Andrew, Anduin Robbins, Alaric Robbins and Melody Mae Swindell.
