He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Ann Helms; his daughters, Lisa Smith (Gerald) of Mt. Gilead and Amy Mills (Shawn) of Lexington; his brother Jerry Helms (Linda) of Stanfield; his grandchildren, Amber Benware (Jeremiah), Zachary Smith (Nancy), Jake Schrimpsher, Brianna Schrimpsher, Canyon Alexander (Emma), Zoe Smith and Madalyn Smith; and his great grandchildren, Trevor, Lillith, Andrew, Theodore and Ember.
