With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Jean Edwards of Norwood, North Carolina, born in Charlotte, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 8, 2024 at the age of 91. She was predeceased by: her parents, Debbie Lee Hurley and Eddie Lee Chapman; her former husband Franklin Eugene Mabry; her husband Raymond Palmer Edwards; her siblings, Helen Louise Chapman Beck, Jessie Virginia "Monk" Chapman Purser and Billy Joe Chapman; her niece Catherine Elaine "Kitty" Purser Kirkley (Paul); and her nephew Bill Lee Purser.
She is survived by: her nephews, Cliff Edwards (Cathy), Ronald Purser (Debbie) and Michael Reid Chapman; her niece Barbara Ruark (Howard); and her sisters-in-law, Emogene Chapman, Ann Edwards and Violet Edwards.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Edwards Funeral Homes (120 College St, Norwood, NC 28128). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 2:35 PM at the Norwood Cemetery.
