He was predeceased by: his siblings, Herman Monroe Ferrell and Emma Juanita Ferrell Gibson. He is survived by: his wife Miriam Plowman Ferrell; his children, Karen Ferrell of Girard, Verna Ferrell of Charlotte, Michael Ferrell (Kimberly) of Groveport and Jonathan Ferrell of Charlotte; his brother Bobby Eugene Ferrell of Charlotte; and his stepchildren, Angela C. Forrest (Mark) of Norwood, Lisa C. Alexander, James Damon Cotton of Charlotte, Terry Creamer of Green Bay and Mark Creamer of Charlotte.
