She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas J. Canter and Zollie Yates Canter; her husband Gilbert Taylor Walker; her children, Linda Walker Sturdivant and Jerry Taylor Walker; her siblings, Mary Linda Burton, Flora Lee Souther, Annie Chamberlain, Irene Dotson, Jake Canter, Ralph Canter, Fred Canter, George Canter, Henry Canter, Burton Canter and Roby Canter; and her sons-in-law, J. D. Childress and Jack Vannoy.
She is survived by: her daughters, Ruth Walker Childress of North Wilkesboro and Doris Walker Vannoy of Wilmington; her grandchildren, Andrea Childress Johnson, Joseph Childress, Lisa S. Nathan, LeAnne Sturdivant, Bill Sturdivant, Justin Vannoy and Jason Vannoy; her great grandchildren, Ty Johnson, Dylan Johnson, Jada Childress, Jenna Childress, Jaxson Childress, Leslie Sturdivant, Taylor Sturdivant, Lara Jarvis Klibansky, Ashley Jarvis, Kamalaya Vannoy and Everly Vannoy; her great great grandchildren, Micah Johnson, Payson Johnson, Parker Mathis, Brayden Byrd, Elizabeth Gray, Ellie Klibansky and Roan Klibansky; and her brother Jack Canter of Irving, TX..
