He is survived by: his wife Katharine Walker Shepherd; his children, Michael Shepherd of Kentucky, Matthew Shepherd of Kentucky and Karie Triplett (Jamie) of North Wilkesboro; his stepson Brandon Yates of North Wilkesboro; his adoptive son Dustin Smith; and his grandchildren, AJ Triplett, Riley Triplett, Charlie Yates and Dakota Shepherd.
