It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sallie Benton Shew (North Wilkesboro, North Carolina), who passed away on June 28, 2019, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her mother Minnie Eller Benton; her son Richard Shew, Sr (Ricky); her grandchildren, Lisa Soots, Rebecca Shew, Amanda Shew and Barry Shew; her siblings, Nora Shew (Gypsy), Mary Ruth Foster, James Hardin Benton and Sylvester Benton (Pate); her children, Susie Mastin of Wilkesboro, Betty Combs (Leon) of North Wilkesboro, Brenda Combs of North Wilkesboro, Barbara Hollar (Danny) of North Wilkesboro, Sandra Shew of North Wilkesboro, James Shew (Peter) of North Wilkesboro, Tommy Shew (Sue) of North Wilkesboro, Warner Shew of Scottville, William Shew (Mary) of North Wilkesboro and Robert Shew of North Wilkesboro; her grandchildren, Missy Johnson, David Combs, Tommy Shew II, Angela Shew, Robert Steven Shew II, Larry Shew, Kimberly Gilreath, Richard Shew, Jr. and Robert Combs (Toot); her great grandchildren, Samantha Johnson, Kaylee Johnson, Brian Johnson, Christy Robertson, Tommy Shew III, Chloe Shew, Kaita Shew, Taylor Combs, Liam Shew, Kelly Shew, Ryleigh Gilreath and Aaron Gilreath; and her great great grandchildren, Tyler Johnson, Mattie Johnson, Seth Tharpe, Luke Tharpe, Kierstin Johnson, Kasey Johnson and Isobella. She was also cherished by her parents; her husband.
