He was predeceased by: his parents, James William Isaac "Ice" Roland and Annie Shumate Roland; and his daughter Janet Marie Roland Martin. He is survived by: his wife Edna Betty Rhoades Roland; his grandsons, Gregory Brian Martin (Carolyn) of Hays and Gary Christopher Martin (Maja) of Raleigh; and his great grandchildren, Jackson Clay Martin, Landon Chase Martin of Hays, Ava Marie Martin of Raleigh, Ella Rae Martin of Raleigh and Noah Christopher Martin of Raleigh. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a "love offering" to Bethel Baptist Church would honor Pa's lifelong passion for music and his devotion to the congregation.
