He was predeceased by: his father Lonnie Rufus. He is survived by: his mother Eva Shepherd Blevins; his aunts and uncles, Peggy Greene of Purlear, Vea Blevins (Ray) of North Wilkesboro, Ruby Nance (Buck) of Wilkesboro, Blaine Shepherd (Judy) of Mooresville and Floyd Shepherd of North Wilkesboro; and his caregivers, Eric and Regina Kilby. He is also survived by several cousins; special friends.
