He was predeceased by: his mother Sarah Barnes Jackson; and his brother William Barnes. He is survived by: his siblings, Althea Howell (Ronald Howell) of Boomer, Mea Rosetta Barnes of Taylorsville, Saretta Redman of Wilkesboro, Vincent Barnes of Wilkesboro and Dale Barnes of North Wilkesboro.
