It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mollie Sue Whitley Smithey of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, who passed away on October 13, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Royal Whitley and Saphrona "Fronie" Billings Whitley; her brother Don Whitley; and her siblings-in-law, Claudette Whitley, Earl Huie, Ray Wingler, Roger Smithey and Robert Smithey.

She is survived by: her sisters, Anah Lee Wingler of Hays and Shirley Huie of Hays; her nieces and nephews, Pam Goforth (Mike), Carla Smithey, Andrea Hendricks (Joe), Gail Westerberg, Eric Wingler (Diane), Mark Huie (Cathy), Randall Huie (Amy), Charlie Whitley (Claudeen), Wayne Whitley (Stephanie) and Michael Whitley (Coleen); and her sisters-in-law, Peggy Smithey and Davida Smithey.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Liberty Grove Baptist Church, 5899 River Road-Liberty Grove Road, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.
