She was predeceased by: her father Clarence; her husband Gene Shepherd; her grandson Ronnie LaPrad; and her siblings, Ransom Key, Henry Monroe Key, Raymond Key, Edna Watson, Ruth Absher and Betty Key.
She is survived by: her children, Rev. Gene Shepherd, Jr. (Janice) of North Wilkesboro and Linda Kay LaPrad (Steve) of North Wilkesboro; her siblings, J. C. Key (Marie) of Greensboro, Virginia Dancy of North Wilkesboro and Mazie Miller of North Wilkesboro; her grandchildren, Phillip LaPrad (Melissa), Brittany Nesbitt (Logan), Benjamin Shepherd and Curt Shepherd; her great grandchildren, Rachel Prevette, William LaPrad, Nolan LaPrad and Tyler LaPrad; and her sister-in-law Donna Key of North Wilkesboro.
