He is survived by: his wife Brenda Barber; his stepdaughters, Amanda Redmon (Seth) of Durham and Sasha Harrison (Travis) of Norlina; his grandchildren, Travis and Kai Harrison; his siblings, Joyce Shelton (Gary) of California, Angela Adams (Charles) of Georgia, Julius Barber (Susie) of North Wilkesboro, Floyd Barber (Katie) of North Wilkesboro, Marvin Barber (Jacquline) of North Wilkesboro and Johnny Barber (JoAnn) of Wilkesboro; his siblings-in-law, Dr. Linda Alexander of Winston-Salem, Sybil Bowick of Durham and James Bowick of Lenoir; his mother-in-law Frances Bowick of Lenoir; and his pet Chuckles Barber.
