He is survived by: his girlfriend Donna Cox of North Wilkesboro; his children, Alex Johnson (JR) of North Wilkesboro, Crystal Shimer (Andy) of South Carolina, Devin Brown of Wilkesboro, Casey Palmer of Wilkes and Emily Eller of Elkin; his siblings, Russell Vogel (Debbie) of Wilkesboro, Michael Vogel (Sherry) of Spartanburg and Shannon Vogel-Timin (Brian) of Raleigh; his granddaughter Eelie of South Carolina; and his nieces and nephews, Ryan Vogel (Christina) of Fuquay-Varina, Justin Vogel (Emily) of Spartanburg, Jake Timin of Raleigh, Summer Wheeler (Hal) of Fuquay-Varina, Amy Helms (Adam) of Hays and Sarah Timin of Raleigh.
