She was predeceased by: her parents, Guilford H. Sparks and Gladys McCann Sparks; her husband L. E. Waddell; her daughter Joy Inez Walker; her grandsons, Marcus Lee Prevette and Gary Scott Prevette; and her siblings, Elmer Hugh Sparks and Geraldine Cothren.
She is survived by: her daughters, Judy Combs of North Wilkesboro and Joan Poplin of Roaring River; her grandchildren, Jeannie Moore (Tommy) of North Wilkesboro, Tina Baker of Hickory, Sherman Gambill (Jessica) of Cary, Cindy Hendren (Bryan) of Stony Point, Patricia St. John (Dean) of North Wilkesboro and Diane Terry of Yadkinville; and her great grandchildren, Dustin Holcomb (Jordan) of Roaring River, Austin Cahill (Amber) of West Virginia, Paige Maltba (Josh) of West Virginia, Camron Gambill of Cary, Cameron Perry (Abby) of Charlotte, Justin Perry (Rebecca) of Roaring River, Kayla Forrest (Scott) of North Wilkesboro, T. J, Moore of Salisbury and Samantha Terry of Boonville. She is also survived by ten great-great grandchildren.
