He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Blackburn and Wilma Clonch Blackburn; and his siblings, Steve Blackburn, Larry Blackburn, Flay Blackburn, Jimmy Blackburn, Opal Blackburn and Hazel Chambers.
He is survived by: his children, Heather Blackburn-Sink (Jerry) and Dustin Kenneth Blackburn of North Wilkesboro; his granddaughter Lauren Alise Eller; his siblings, Bill Blackburn of North Wilkesboro, Raymond Blackburn of North Wilkesboro, Danny Blackburn (Paulette) of North Wilkesboro, Terry Blackburn (Nancy) of North Wilkesboro, Mike Blackburn (Carol) of North Wilkesboro, Marvin Blackburn (Betty) of North Wilkesboro, Elean Earp of North Wilkesboro, Shelby Blackburn (Farris) of North Wilkesboro and Peggy Walton of Elkin; his brother-in-law Herman Chambers of North Wilkesboro; and his pets, Cezar, Callie, Archie, Kori Leigh, Lily, Chelsea, Tinky and Tiffini. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Flint Hill Baptist Church (1390 Flint Hill Rd, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to Flint Hill Baptist Church, 1425 Flint Hill Road, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659 or to Fairplains Baptist Church, 141 Fairplains Church Street, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659, both churches that have filled significant rolls in his life and his daughter's life spiritually.
