He was predeceased by: his parents, Heinrich August and Marie Geisel Geborene Kohlmeier; his wife Judy Ann Galloway Kohlmeier; and his sister Anita Nicely. He is survived by: his children, Karen Marie Childress of North Wilkesboro, Kristine Anita Elledge of Sherrills Ford, Steve Melvin Kohlmeier (May) of Kannapolis and Eric Karl Kohlmeier (Lori) of Wilkesboro; his grandchildren, Robin Johnson (Jimmie), Chance Kohlmeier, Brandon Elledge, Ryan Elledge and Maydin Kohlmeier; his great grandchildren, Samantha Johnson, Kyler Elledge, Grayson Elledge and Stephan Elledge; and his sisters, Giesela Breski of Illinois and Ursela Adams of Illinois.
