He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Anderson and Lola Stone Anderson; and his siblings, Clayton, Lester Harrison "L. H.", Dorothy, Margie, Ina, Ailene and Aggie.
He is survived by: his wife Opal Sheets Anderson; his children, Gary Anderson (Diane) of Wilkesboro and Vickie Chappell (Doug) of North Wilkesboro; his granddaughters, Crystal Wilkins (Jamie) of Johns Island, Kayla Shew (Richard) of Wilkesboro and Amanda Winters (Matthew) of North Wilkesboro; his great grandchildren, Allie, Blake, Colton and Sadie; and his sister Sue Hayes of Boone.
