James left this world on January 1, 2025 at the age of 82, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Monroe and Ruby Olivine May Sloop; his granddaughter Ella Tyler; his son Christopher Graves; and his brother Bill Sloop.
He is survived by: his daughters, Linda Sloop of North Wilkesboro, Ruby Dunn (Joe) of Russellville, AR, Michelle Tyler of Russellville, AR, Kim Sloop and Brenda Braswell; his grandchildren, Alicia Treadwell, Hailey Dunn, Annelise Tyler, Dexter Tyler, James Graves, Garrett Graves, Jonah Graves and Skyler Graves; his great grandchildren, Christopher Graves, Hannah Graves, Aspen Graves, Chandler Graves and Zarren McDaniel; and his siblings, Betty Eller of Wilkesboro, Lucy Hall of North Wilkesboro, Lillian Eldreth of Moravian Falls, Sarah Mehaffie of Blythe, GA, Norma Sloop of Moravian Falls and Warren Sloop (Mae) of Hays.
A graveside service was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Moravian Falls Cemetery.
