He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Joseph and Minnie Shepherd Royal; his wife Juanita Jean Roten Royal; and his daughter Julie Elizabeth Royal Villegas. He is survived by: his children, Cecil Royal, Jr. (Anna) of North Wilkesboro, Joan G. Royal of North Wilkesboro, Celia Greene (Archie) of North Wilkesboro and Elsa Swahn of North Wilkesboro; and his grandchildren, Austin Royal of North Wilkesboro, Bradley Villegas of North Wilkesboro, Dale Shepherd of North Wilkesboro, Jesse Hall of Millers Creek, Melissa Hall of North Wilkesboro and Rita Berk of Colorado. He is also survived by five great grandchildren; many, many nieces and nephews.
