She was predeceased by: her parents, Calvin Monroe and Mamie Combs Shumate; and her spouse Desley Walker. She is survived by: her children, Penny Snodgrass (David) of North Wilkesboro and Artie Walker (Julie) of Hays; her grandchildren, Sara Levchuk (Matthew) of Moravian Falls, Maria Walker of Elkin and Jake Walker of Hays; and her great grandchild Lucy Levchuk of Moravian Falls.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery - Luray Road (353 Luray Rd, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659).
