It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Faye Shumate of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, who passed away on May 14, 2021, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Elton F. Johnson and Ruth Blackburn Johnson. She is survived by: her husband Robert; her son Robert "Robbie" Vance Shumate, Jr. (Tammie McCarter Shumate) of North Wilkesboro; her grandchildren, Christopher Anthony Shumate (Ruth) and Catherine Shumate Matherly (Bryant); and her great grandchild Caroline Brooke Matherly.
