He is survived by: his wife Mary Hayes Wood; his daughter Martha Mathis (Joey) of North Wilkesboro; his grandchildren, Danielle Goulds (Adam) of Wilkesboro and Joel Mathis of Wilkesboro; his great grandchildren, Sadie Griffith and Dawson Goulds; and his siblings, Clifford Wood of North Wilkesboro, Jessie Wood of Roaring River and Matilla "Toots" Perkins (Sammy) of Roaring River. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
