He was predeceased by: his parents, William Taft Greer and Essie Victoria Watson Greer; his siblings, Harold Greer, Clayborn Greer, Gaither Greer, Taft "Sunny" Greer, Shirlie Greer and Vivian Greer; and his granddaughter Hannah Adams.
He is survived by: his children, Christopher Greer of Moravian Falls, Anthony Greer of Jonesville, Michael Greer of North Wilkesboro, Amanda Adams (Tracy) of Purlear and Jennifer (Jay) of Jonesville; his siblings, Shelby Greer of North Wilkesboro, Viola Triplett of Ferguson and Gerald Greer of Lenoir; and his grandchildren, Ashley Greer, Matthew Greer, Amber Adams, Alyvia Adams, Damien Norman, Dillan Norman, Kencil Cox, Liam Greer and Dalton Greer. He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren.
