He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Howard and Virginia Lee Eads Nicks; and his sister Doris Lee Draughn. He is survived by: his wife Wilma St. John Nicks; his children, Tammy Nicks Vannoy (Chal) of North Wilkesboro and Calvin Michael Nicks of North Wilkesboro; his grandsons, Clint Roten (Amanda) and Cody Roten (Hannah); his great grandchildren, DeLacey Hamilton, Terence Hamilton and Caroline Roten; and his sister Ruth King of Boonville.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home (270 Armory Rd, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Brier Creek Baptist Church (10869 Old Hwy 60, Ronda, NC 28670). A burial was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at the Brier Creek Baptist Church Cemetery (10869 Old 60, Roaring River, NC 28669).
