He was predeceased by: his parents, Grant Henry and Annie Elizabeth Cleary Pruitt; his wife Nancy Karen Anderson Pruitt; his stepson Bobby Williams; and his sister Connie Lee Jennings.
He is survived by: his children, Allen Pruitt (Miranda) of North Wilkesboro and Monica Wood (Kyle Dinger) of North Wilkesboro; his grandchildren, Silas Pruitt, Riely Tackett and George Wood; and his siblings, Gerald Pruitt of North Wilkesboro and Arbutus Pruitt of Lenoir. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
