She was predeceased by: her parents, David Hovis Trull and Berta Mae Ellison Trull; her husband Walter Lee Swaringen; and her siblings, J. D. Trull and Geraldine Barnes.
She is survived by: her sons, David Swaringen (Sandra Love Swaringen) of Wilkesboro and Danny Swaringen (Janette Brown Swaringen) of Millers Creek; her sister Frances Long of Albemarle; her grandchildren, Jamie Lane (Daniel) of McGrady, Dr. Shanna Swaringen of Chapel Hill, Dr. Megan Swaringen of North Wilkesboro and Anthony Swaringen (Nick Winstead) of Durham; and her great grandchildren, Brandon Lane, Reagan Lane and William Lane.
