She was predeceased by: her parents, Mumford Hayes of Washington and Essie Viola Holcomb Hayes; her husband Max Aldean Hamby; her siblings, Marybelle Hayes Johnson and William Jasper Hayes; and her brothers-in-law, Walter George and Lester Johnson.
She is survived by: her sons, Niki A Hamby (Kim) of North Wilkesboro, Kimi M. Hamby (Kathy) of Boomer, W. Kipi Hamby (Melissa) of North Wilkesboro and Kini H. Hamby (Kimberly) of North Wilkesboro; her grandchildren, Trevor Hamby, Kailee Davis (Tim), Jordan Cheek (Thomas), Ethan Hamby and Breanna; her great grandchildren, Sydney Cheek and Emersyn Davis; and her sisters, Dicie Hayes George of Sparta and Dorothy "Dot" Hayes Foster (Curtis Foster) of Purlear.
