It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Artie Sue Barnes of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, who passed away on May 16, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Bynum Horton and Hettie Parsons Horton; her siblings, Daphne Horton Barnes (Harrison), Rayford Horton and Clifford Horton; and her sons-in-law, Kendall Wilson and Robert Carlton.
She is survived by: her husband Paul Gwyn Barnes Sr.; her children, Suzanne B. Lester (Errol) of Athens Georgia, Carol B. Wilson of Wilkesboro, Betty B. Gyant (Ben) of North Wilkesboro, Paulette B. Hoke (Richard) of North Wilkesboro, Bonnie B. Carlton of Charlotte, Salicia B. Ceron of North Wilkesboro and Paul Barnes Jr. of North Wilkesboro; her sister Lona Belle Horton of North Wilkesboro; her grandchildren, Natasha Waller, Errol S. Lester, Talon J. Brown, Brandon Carlton, Terrence Brown, Kristie Barnes, Devin Lineberger, Ashley Baker and Kendra Wilson; and her great grandchildren, Trey Lester, Tyler Shultz, Zariya Brown, Talon J. Brown Jr., Peyton Carlton, Madison Carlton, Jordyn Lester, Taylor Carlton, Zayden Barnes, Xavian Carlton, Londyn Lester, Justus Brown, Kamdon Carlton, Justice Waller, Kendall Jenkins, Kenyon Abdullah, Kennadi Abdullah, Johnny Waller Jr., Javon Lineberger, Charlee Rose Lineberger, Braceyn Baker, Kyson Baker and Mayson Baker. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
