He was predeceased by: his parents, Mack Church and Grace Farris Church; and his siblings, Hubert, Mack Church, Mattie Garner, Ruby Herman, Opal Blankenship, Vetta Brooks and Lucy Church.
He is survived by: his wife Doris South Church; his daughter Kathy Church of Hays; his grandchildren, Jonathan Church (Tiffany) of North Wilkesboro, Eric Church (Katie) of Hamptonville and Kennette Miller (Chris) of North Wilkesboro; and his sisters, Denna Leinbach of Indianapolis and Lea Yattes of Greensboro. He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren; one great grandchild on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
