He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Newton and Vesta Roberts Nichols; his grandson Zachary Hubbard; and his siblings, Dimple Huie, Ollie Coleman, Veora Souther, Hal Nichols, Jack Nichols and Stuart Nichols.
He is survived by: his wife Vergie Jarvis Nichols; his children, Karen N. Hubbard (John), Heather N. Mason (Terry) and Anthony Robert Nichols (Pam) of North Wilkesboro; his grandchildren, Devin Nacahols (Crystal), Dakota Parsons, Trent Mason and Aubrey Mason; and his great grandchildren, Holden Nacahols, DJ Nacahols, Peyton Nacahols and Caylee Parsons.
