He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Cody and Martha Ballard Cody; and his siblings, Marlene Bowlin, Marilyn Cody and Marvin Cody.
He is survived by: his wife Teresa Bumgarner Cody; his daughter Candy Cody Dwyer (Paul) of Wilkesboro; his granddaughter Haven Ann Church of North Wilkesboro; and his brother Calvin Cody of North Wilkesboro. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Reins-Sturdivant Chapel (270 Armory Rd, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659).
