He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Martin and Marvie Boyd Furr; his daughter Joanne Furr; and his siblings, Magdalene Carpenter, Melvin, J. W., Ray, James and Bobby Furr.
He is survived by: his children, Gary Furr (Laura) of Norman, Nancy Bossie (Edward) of South Carolina and Betty Jo Gordy of Aberdeen; and his siblings, Brenda Kay Lisenby of Vass and Thomas Furr of Southern Pines. He is also survived by six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
