Alvin Young Sr. Obituary
Mr. Alvin Young, Sr., 84, of Norman Shoaf Rd., was born December 14, 1936 to Beatrice Clark Young and William "Buck" Young. Big Al, as he affectionately known, departed this life on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at his residence. A graveside service will be Saturday at 1:00pm at Righteous Church of God. Public viewing will be Friday from 1:00 - 5:00pm at Roberts Funeral Service.
Deacon Young was a faithful member of Righteous Church of God and a committed servant of the Lord. He served in the church for many years supporting the church and doing the Lord's work. He would have celebrated his wedding anniversary on January 14th. He retired from the Davidson County Sheriff Workshop in Lexington. He was a staple in the Midway community and one of the community leaders.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Steven Young; four brothers: Bill Young, Melvin Young, Leo Young and Allen Young; three sisters: Virginia Fuller, Naomi Yokley and Pansy Young and a great-grandson, Koretez Lindsay. He leaves to cherish his loving memories his devoted and loving wife of 57 years, Morphine Young; five children: Jannette (Dale) Daniels of Atlanta, Ga., Edward Young, Alvin Young, Jr., Rochelle Barmore and Calvin Young all of Midway; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; his siblings: Mazie Gandy, Martha Simon, Corrina (John) Simon, Betty (Alonzo) Terrell and Zona Logan; a special cousin, David Eller and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
